Chakra quilt
Cotton, appliqué, free motion quilting
2018
This quilt was done for another Nanaimo Modern Quilt Guild summer challenge, in which members randomly drew cards from a deck and were to design and make a quilt expressing that card somehow. I drew the 7 of hearts, and after much thought came up with the idea of using a chakra motif on a skeleton Halloween panel I had in my stash.
In addition, I played with the idea of an aura in the free motion quilting.
It won a first place in the Wallhanging – Entrant’s Own Design class at the 2019 Cowichan Exhibition.
